Divorce Questions About Child Support
Child support issues raise the ire of estranged fathers, and even
more so, severely limit mothers struggling for financial independence.
The basis of the obligation remains clear - the best interest of the
child is the primary focus of all laws, rules and regulations of court
pertaining to child support payments. As unfair to parents as this focus
may seem, financial responsibility and economic hardship are a fact of
life. Fathers must pay for the necessities of their child. Mothers must
make do with the amounts provided by law that provide child support
payments. Conversely, should fathers receive custody, no gender
preference should be expected either way.
