Divorce Laws, Children Academic Behavior After Divorce
All too often, children's grade suffer following a divorce. Most major studies agree: Children of divorced
parents suffer across the board in major test categories by an average of 12%. The cause of decline may be as
simple as a child's inability to concentrate, temporarily. More likely however, stress from trauma caused by the
loss of a parent manifests slowly, and often goes unresolved into adulthood.
Divorce Laws Provided By Statutes
Family law lawyers must pass a written examination and background verification before licensure by the state bar.
The examination is designed to insure basic competency, including analysis of divorce law issues, child custody
and support issues, and familiarity with the rules of
court. Family law lawyers must also complete a minimum annual quota in participatory hours in continuing legal education
seminars approved by the state bar. State divorce laws, whether provided by codes, administrative regulation, or
judicial opinions, change frequently in response to political and social impact. Because of the complicated
structure of divorce law applications, each interested party should consult a family law lawyer prior to taking
any legal action.
